After seeing how much bubbling and paint chip my decade-old Mecca has suffered, i have decide to go ahead with "project Mecca"..

I still remember that this was my FIRST model car, and it was my auntie who bought for me. Brand is maisto, $39.90, at woodlands causeway point the metro..It's Birthday was on 1st DEC 1999, so yeah it is 1 month shy of its 10 year old birthday..

After soo much guidance from people like evovolver,qks57,xtn32,ypeich,audiotechnica, ETC..., i decided that i could not fail for the 3rd time. Spent close to $40 on primer, paint, clearcoat and accessories...Planning to show case my car on its 10th birthday, so meanwhile you can see the process and the remnants of it..

Its remnant parts...the window, wheels, engine etc..(a clue to the colour of my new car,saw it??)

My Failed Ferrari F40, May you Rest In Peace...

More to come...stay tune!!

Don't give up on your F40, save it Exclamation
Ask the experts here to help you.

Good luck in your McLaren, hope it turns out to your expectations.
And what are the keys for??? Is it the car keys of your McLaren F1??? Laughing

Update: Mecca Gets A New Coat Of "Life" !!

And ths is what i get for not using gloves....

Guess it'll take a day or 2 for me to remove the paint on my hand lo....
I realised that i've regreted abit on the colour choice..actually wanted to get this tamiya x-26 metallic orange one, but then no stock!! they got metallic red and purple, but ended up choosing this french blue..Does it looks ugly??? aw...
I think i will probably get another maisto/ut mclaren first, and spray my desired colour on it..anyone selling mclarens????

More to come...Stay Tune!!!

Actually based on this blue, you can do a Gulf McLaren F1.

Anyway, poor hands.

erm, if i were u i'd leave the rims as they are. the stock is so pretty!

and pretty good for a 1st paintjob! anyway, i'd recommend not to use x-series paints, those are meant for paintbrushing. i'd stick to TS spray cans. if i were u, i'd hav gotten metallic silver, then spray clear over it.. Very Happy

But i already have one with silver metallic already..

Since you said the stock look pretty, then i may consider not changing it.. Razz
